I spent a couple of days this past week at Graduate Fashion Week in London.
Graduate Fashion Week is the annual event that includes all University Graduate Design centres across the country to showcase, demonstrate and celebrate design talent and next generation inspiration. It is essentially an important time for Graduates who have now finished their academic journey and are starting the next phase of their life either in employment or branching out into self employed business. The event sponsored by George (Asda) is attended by fashion press, retailers, buyers and many important fashion elite so it really is the place to be seen as a Fashion Graduate. I loved it. Generally I love Shoreditch. The days when the exhibition was at the Kensington Olympia in West London was just ok. Shoreditch however is special. Nowhere else in the world can you walk down the road and be immersed in so much originality and creative talent. It must be the most innovative area in London for creatives. It is a central spot for new boutiques and retailers and a major area for artists and creative galleries and events. Anything goes to some extent and this represents everything that modern fashion and creative inspiration should be about. Looking at the new ideas displayed and speaking to some of the young designers, it is evident that a lot of work has gone into everything that makes a final Graduate piece. Inspired by the past, fashion is in constant motion and always evolving. Graduate Fashion Week is vital for sharing new ideas and presenting what the next generation of designers have in store for us. Film Creatives: I am now working with film production company www.filmcreatives.com, a cutting edge company and studio, producing motion images for any idea that you have. If you have an idea and want to present it the best that you can, contact me and let's talk.
