SAY YES TO #CLEANBEAUTY!

When I heard about the new range of products from pure potions, I was super excited and keen to find out! On receiving the product I dived straight into using the moisturising cream. On the cold winter mornings my normally dry and cracking skin thanked me for the love! What I didn’t rush to do was try the shampoo and conditioner.... it sat there, I looked at it, it looked at me. The right words were all there; natural, paraben free. I am not one to put any old product on my 4c natural hair. Finally having grown out the relaxer, the limp straightened ends now chopped off and the full bouncy kinky strands framing my face, I am embracing my true roots. So I looked at it and eventually decided to do a strand test and check it out. Here are my thoughts:
 1.       Smells reassuringly herbal.
Opening the bottle of shampoo, I am immediately hit with a strong aroma that if I didn’t know better would have said it was medication. Half expecting it to tingle on my scalp like peppermint on an icy day, it didn’t in fact was just nice, homely, aromatherapy.

 2.       How clean?
For somebody who doesn’t want to use any old product, I'll be honest and confess that my use of all natural shea butter is beyond obsessive. The only thing to wean me off using coconut oil for basically everything, shea butter is a blessing and a wonder especially when the weather gets cold. Every day I dampen my hair and apply the shea butter cream to my strands so that the comb slides right through. After a week of this it takes a special kind of shampoo and conditioner to be able to remove that level of product build-up. It seemed to have one the job!

 3.       The conditioner is actually thick enough
I tend to shop for the industrial thick professional conditioners especially made for afro, kinky, 4c hair. The standard bottles that are decorating supermarket shelves tend not to be thick enough for me to even imagine them making a difference. I love the feel of conditioner in my hair and a good one means that I can easily get a small tooth comb through without any tears – that would be something!
