Being indoors for 6 weeks at this "lock-down" time where we all self-isolate has really made me think long and hard (not that hard to be fair) about whether I should wake up so early, shower daily or wear make up. I opted for "yes," personally! I think that regular sleep, good hygiene, healthy diet and a good amount of exercise are definitely a self-care must. I came across this 25% off voucher to try out a pamper kit, delivered to the door every other month and had to check it out.
Ecocobox is a selection of lovely things that mum's use daily to help look and feel her best self and also gorgeous things to help care for her baby, because researching can be such a time drain and, quite frankly, mum's have better things to do!
Each Ecocobox contains a minimum of 5 items, at least 4 full sized, from earth conscious brands seeking to create beautiful products with high quality natural ingredients and low impact packaging. Delivered every other month, with prices starting at around £30, there is significant saving in every box. Ecocobox love to include an Eco lifestyle item, to help people live a more sustainable life and work with brands of different sizes, but love working with artisan brands trying to do great things in the world.
Ecocobox aim to help mum's find better products for themselves and their little ones, and also support them in carving out 'me time' at a point in their life where they are probably putting everyone else first; Ecocobox is designed to pamper. But additionally, supporting brands with incredible ethics and stories with beautiful products to get exposure. It is a real win win!
There's loads of ideas springing up every where to support parents who are currently home schooling children. Here's another that looks cool for now and going forward.
Little Bakers create baking kits designed especially for kids, teaching them how to bake properly - no cake mixes, no cheating! Everything is pre-weighed out so there is no stress, no hassle, just lots of fun!
The Little Bakers Club is a monthly subscription, and each month the child will receive their own parcel through the post, containing all the ingredients pre-weighed out (apart from things like butter and eggs), a detailed step by step guide, and a little activity. They could be baking anything from cake pops to flapjacks, to funny face cookies to caterpillar cupcakes. Kits are designed for children of all ages and children get to learn a vital life skill.
Today, Sunday 26 April 2020 should have been the 40th London Marathon but instead of feeling sad that the event had to be cancelled, I have enjoyed watching everyone on social media post about their own 2.6 challenge so that all the charities that would have benefited still can.
As explained on the website: www.twopointsixchallenge.co.uk/getinvolved all you need to do is dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 that suits your skills and complete it on Sunday 26 April – when the 40th London Marathon would have taken place. This could be something as simple as pledging to run or ride 2.6 miles as your daily exercise, holding the plank for 2.6 minutes, to gardening for 26 minutes. There are no rules – apart from the Government guidelines on how to exercise safely during this time.
Today I will hold the plank for 2.6 minutes. I wont be collecting funds, I will donate £26 to my chosen charity listed on www.justgiving.com
What's you 2.6 Challenge?
Trying on my new lingerie from juliemay.co.uk, here are my thoughts...
Beauty and comfort are not usually two words that go together in the world of fashion. The rise of stylish comfort in fashion means we are now witnessing a lingerie revolution where what we wear makes us feel confident on the inside, ready for whatever the day has in store for us and also makes us feel like we are up to date with latest trends.
I got to try on items from The LEOPARD collection, here are my thoughts...
It's been an exciting weekend in the UK with the Royal wedding and FA Cup happening on the same day! Not only that but we've been lucky with the warm sunny weather, enjoying picnics and days out everywhere.
