I wrote about Naomi Campbell's Fashion For Relief amazing fundraising in my last Fashion London feature. She doing another one to launch this edition of London Fashion Week!
Naomi will be opening this year’s London Fashion Week with her spectacular star studded charity fashion show. Naomi and her friends will be hitting the catwalk wearing pieces donated from the world’s most prestigious fashion houses across the world including Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Azzedine Alaia, Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, Balmain, Marchesa, Versace and more.
And all for charity. What a great idea!
On the 61st edition of London Fashion Week British Fashion Council announce that the direct contribution of the fashion industry to the UK economy is £26million. Not a number to ignore especially during this slow growing economic times.
The key event is responsible for launching the most high end British designers and supporting ongoing talent every year.
The next event taking place between 20th - 24th February 2015 will see 78 designers on the main schedule influencing our fashion decisions and growing the economy further in the coming months. What will we be wearing this autumn/winter?
The International Fashion Showcase, part of London Fashion Week is now open to view designers.
Fashion designers from around the world have gathered in Brewer street car park and will be there between 20th - 24th February 2015, throughout the main LFW presentation. I wonder how we'll be inspired for the coming season?
So here we go, 40 days and 40 nights. I don't expect it to be easy at all. As well as the usual fasting, one of the www.40acts.org.uk suggestions was to start a blog and hopefully inspire others. In case there's anyone that wants to read my blabbering, here goes.
I am grateful for:
1: love in all it's forms
2: my wonderful day job that gives me a sense of purpose
3: exercising my editorial creativity with my magazine contributions
4: all the material things I have that I hope to share more and bless others with
5: good health and wealth in all it's forms
Truly grateful and wish to bless others with more of the same :-)
It's taken me a few weeks of thinking about it. What should I give up for Lent? Every year since I was a teenager I have given up something for Lent, often it's either chocolate, sweets, cake and even bread and pastry products. This year, I couldn't think of anything to give up that had enough impact. It is fasting season so it must be a fast. I said "I'm sure God will reveal to me in time." Quite rightly so, after being woken up at silly o'clock on shrove Tuesday by some shadowy dream, I prayed and the revelation came! It dawned on me that this is probably not the year for me to give anything up but my year of giving, and that's what I intend to do.
