This week's fitness and beauty edit
"Buying what I would class as the basics for looking broadly socially acceptable, my bathroom now resembles a cosmetic store to rival superdrug."
I have always favoured more natural ways to maintain soft skin and winter months bring with it a new challenge to maintain smooth skin and glowing complexion. The wind and the rain play rough games with my skin, rubbing my cheeks raw, lips chapped and hands crinkly. Here are a few tips and tricks that keep me going like a true ex-model over 30.
1. Exfoliate - always exfoliate naturally. I love to use a handful of table salt and a natural oil. Now the weather is harsher, I use a natural shea butter for the added bit of luxury.
2. Shea butter - this one is actually number 1! It has to be the pure and natural kind shipped from nowhere but Africa. Great for dry skin, great for my afro hair and a treat for chapped lips. A must have in winter.
3. Water - one big lesson is to not wait to be thirsty to drink more water. Always have a bottle everywhere.
